Our Founder
DR MOHAMAD TABBAA is the Founder of BLK INK Academy.
Dr Tabbaa has been awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies and History from La Trobe University. He was also awarded an Honours in Legal Studies from La Trobe University, where his thesis earned the greatest mark in the department history and has since been used as the benchmark for future students.
Dr Tabbaa has also been awarded a PhD in Criminology and Law from the University of Melbourne.
His work is a unique fusion of Modern French Philosophy, Ancient Greek Philosophy, Islamic Mysticism, Criminology & Legal Studies and Modern Humanities.
Dr Tabbaa specialises in understanding the modern human condition, particularly as it pertains to matters of Speech, Truth and Violence. His early research focused on the limitations of Human Rights as an emancipatory tool, with his thesis earning him peer recognition as a Legal Scholar. He also worked closely with affected communities during the decades of the War on Terror, including serving as an Executive Director at the Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV).
His later research focused on understandings and embodiments of Truthful Speech, from the Ancient notion of parrhesia to modern notions of Freedom of Speech, in pursuit of the question, How Can a Muslim Speak Truthfully Today? His research took a turn to trauma and mysticism when he uncovered his Complex PTSD after more than two decades of medical interventions. He subsequently used his research to develop a Trauma Healing modality and has since founded Elemental, a Trauma Healing Clinic in Marrickville, Sydney.

Dr Tabbaa is also a recognised Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Disruptions Management and was regularly consulted by Government Transport Agencies during his time as a Corporate Manager for Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM).
Dr Tabbaa has taught thousands of students across La Trobe and Melbourne Universities, and has been invited to present his research in Public, Organizational and Academic forums. His work has been quoted in parliamentary debates, cited in academic journals, utilized in teaching curricular, published in national and international media, and debated on the front pages of major Australian newspapers. He has also presented extensively in corporate settings as well as being sought for expert consultation on Disruption and Passenger Management, Transport Logistics, Self-Development and Change Management.
He is currently an Independent Researcher residing in Sydney, New South Whales.
